Reminisce (verb)

1. To recall the past in a private moment, often fondly or
nostalgically.

2. To talk or write about memories of the past, especially pleasant
memories.

Usage:

My grand father used to reminisce about his days in the Navy.

In spite of the hardships he underwent, my colleague used to
often reminisce about his childhood.
