It’s only Words and words are

It’s only Words and words are all I have to take your heart away…

Thus go the lyrics of a famous song. Words are an integral part of our lives, employed every day to serve our purposes. Our day begins and ends with words. We rely on words to convey our feelings. Words of encouragement and excitement, words of happiness or sorrow, of kindness or hatred, words that make us laugh or cry, words that dread us with despair and words that fill us with hope.
A single word that is appropriate can often convey more depth and meaning than a myriad of words. And yet, we struggle with words. Many a times we wonder “what’s the right word here?” Wouldn’t it be great if we had in our possession an arsenal of words to suit every occasion? The “Word of the day” initiative endeavors to do just that. The idea is very simple. All we need to do is to read, understand and use one new word per day.
